Dr. Moazzam Tanveer

Dr. Moazzam Tanveer, Ph.D. from Shanghai University of Sport, Shanghai, China, is currently serving as a Consultant/Assistant Professor in the Allied Health & Sport Sciences Department at Health Services Academy, Islamabad, Pakistan. Dr. Tanveer’s research is centered on enhancing physical activity (PA), physical fitness, quality of life, sleep, and overall well-being. His work addresses pressing public health issues such as obesity, optimizing time-use, and promoting healthy lifestyles.His specific areas of focus include healthy time-use behavior, school-based physical activity promotion, physical activity policy, scaling up physical activity interventions, and physical education. He is particularly interested in the 24-hour movement behavior and physical literacy of school-aged children and adolescents, as well as public health challenges in Pakistan.In addition to his academic research, Dr. Tanveer is an experienced physical education practitioner, dedicated to applying his knowledge in practical settings to improve community health and well-being.

Research Areas

My research focused on crucial aspects of childhood obesity, including determining the current prevalence of overweight and obesity among children and adolescents in Pakistan, analyzing its developmental characteristics, exploring the correlations between overweight and obesity and socio-ecological factors, examining and comparing combined ecological exposures to better understand their influence on childhood overweight and obesity, and developing an intervention strategy based on the social-ecological model.
My research findings had a significant impact, and the World Obesity Federation has updated Pakistani school-aged children and adolescents’ overweight and obesity data based on my results. This demonstrates the real-world implications and importance of my work in the field.
Motivation: My motivation stems from a deep commitment to improving the health and well-being of youth in different societies. I am driven by the desire to enhance their abilities and educate communities worldwide. I am seeking a challenging and rewarding position within an organization that fosters a highly competitive environment and utilizes my knowledge and potential for its growth and development. I am dedicated to seizing career development opportunities that will further enhance my skills and contribute to the advancement of my field
