He also has multiple certifications on the issues of research, health and development from University of Leeds (UK). He has received various trainings on Public Health issues from WHO and Johns Hopkins. He has also participated in a workshop for Educators organized by the Division of Continuing Education, in Harvard University. He is also the Fellow of the Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland. He has also been awarded membership through distinction of Royal Faculty of Public Health (MFPH – UK). His value addition includes: a) inform the healthcare interventions to make its design (content) sensitive to healthcare provider as well as community perspectives; similar to what he has done for delivering early child development and non-communicable disease care at public and private healthcare facilities; b) inform the communication strategies and materials for enabling the patients to change behaviors and the communities to get aware of health challenges and recommended measures; similar to what he has done for promoting life style modification (in people with diabetes), behavior activation (in people with depression), and transmission prevention (in people with drug resistant tuberculosis); c) contextualized interventions for meaningful engagement of communities in healthcare delivery i.e., community led monitoring (CLM) for patients to report challenges and contribute in healthcare sensitive to their needs; similar to what he has done for engaging TB survivors in patient support and responsive care at public healthcare facilities.
In health care evaluation and research, his value addition includes: a) promoting human dimensions in the health care research and evaluation; as he has done in multiple process evaluation studies designed and conducted mainly to understand how and why of the healthcare practices; b) evolving practical ways to balance the application of quantitative and qualitative methods for optimal research/ evaluation outputs; as he has done in multiple heath care intervention studies.
